What Makes It So Special?

Structured Method

The G4 Guitar Method has been developed over the last 30 years and is used in 60+ G4 Guitar Schools across the globe to teach over 1000+ students a week. We believe it to be the quickest & easiest way to learn guitar.

7 Essential Skills

Our Adult program is built around the 7 essential guitar skills which has students playing their favourite songs quicker and teaches them everything they need to become a well rounded musician.

Checklists

We use checklists to help keep students focused and progressing. No more wasting time wondering what to practice or if you are improving because it is all mapped out for you.

Student Website

The student website contains videos of everything that's covered in the weekly lessons. As well as song tutorials, quick riffs and courses.

frequently asked questions

All students start on our 5-week intro course which allows us to work one on one with the student to develop understanding of our method and establish basic technique.

At the end of the 5-weeks students will have a basic understanding of the 7 essential guitar skills and would have already started their first song.

It will take a few months to get fingers really going but students who meet the recommend practice of 30 minutes 5 times a week can expect to have a good number of songs under their belt and to have completed the first G4 level within 6 – 12 months.

This depends on what type of music you would ultimately like to play. If you would like to play predominatly acoustic styles of music then an acoustic guitar would be best. If you prefer heavy metal than an electric guitar would be best.

The most important two thing to look for when buying a new guitar is play-ability and tune-ability. It is important to make sure the guitar is comfortable to play and that it stays in tune.

We start all students on our 5-week intro course. This course is taught one-to-one and allows us to introduce the student to our unique method and establish basic technique, the intro course costs £79 and includes 5 individual weekly lessons and all materials.

On completion of the 5-week introduction students will be able to continue learning in a small group (max. 5 students) of similar age and ability. We encourage all students to learn in small groups as it has been proven to be the most effective way to learn.

Group lessons are a £79 monthly subscription, which includes:

  • A structured method developed over the last 20 years
  • 4x weekly half hour lessons
  • Email and telephone support
  • Access to the student website which includes extra courses, songs and resources
  • FREE ticket to G4 Ashford’s monthly workshop Non-student cost £20
  • Regular performance opportunities
The key to success on guitar is establishing the routine of practice. How much practice you do and the quality of that practice will ultimately dictate your rate of progress. We recommend teens/adults practice a minimum of 30 minutes 5 times a week.
